Home for Hope

I recently ran across this wonderful video on YouTube. I really like what Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD) and Home for Hope is doing to help find homes for these Singaporean street dogs. We could use this great idea here in Canada! Kudos to them for this brilliant PR idea! All write-ups below have been pulled from Home for Hope YouTube channel and their main web page.

Home For Hope is a collective project with IKEA and other leading home furnishing stores to provide much-needed exposure for homeless pets. If you or someone you know is looking for a pet to complete the home, visit homeforhope.sg. #homeforhope

SAVE OUR STREET DOGS (SOSD)

True to its name, SOSD’s mission is to give Singapore’s street dogs a new lease of life. Started by a group of volunteers, SOSD believes in walking the whole nine yards: rescuing, rehabilitation and rehoming.

WHY ADOPT AND NOT BUY?

Adoption’s the way to go. Shelters keep a good record of the dogs’ history and personality, making it easy to find the best fit for you and your family.

At the same time, you won’t be starting from scratch. During their stay in a shelter, dogs are rehabilitated. This equips them with basic manners and commands. These rescue dogs have also been neutered and vaccinated, which saves you a sizable sum.

Most importantly, you’ll be offering a precious second chance to a dog that’s ready to shower you with loads of love, every day. By adopting, you’ll also curb the work of mercenary puppy mills, which generates profits at the expense of the dogs’ welfare.
